Testing

Akka provides three kinds of testing.

  • Unit testing verifies that a single component returns the expected effect or state when called in isolation.

  • Integration testing verifies that multiple components work together against a real in-process runtime, with external dependencies stubbed at the boundary.

  • Evaluation runs an agent through a fixed set of eval cases inside a TestKit test and checks each reply and the tool calls the runtime traced with built-in evaluators, a model judge and a gate.

Start with Unit testing to test one component at a time, Integration testing to test the wiring, and Evaluation to check an agent’s tool use and answers. An evaluation whose cases are attacks is an adversarial test.
