Set up your env

There are four ways to set up an Akka environment. Each is self-contained and lists its own prerequisites. Every tutorial and sample links back to the setup it needs.

Install using your AI harness — recommended. Give your AI coding assistant one instruction and it installs Akka for you.
Manually set up your AI harness — install the Akka Specify Plugin in your AI coding assistant yourself.
Manually set up your env — install the Akka CLI, Java, and Maven directly.
Containerized env — run everything in a Docker container, with no local Java, Maven, or CLI install.
